We select a Girl of the Week for each of the age groups (Strong, Smart and Bold) during the summer. Girls of the Week provide leadership to their group--read their profiles below!

What I like best about Girls Inc.: There are only girls. 
What I like best about myself: I am smart.

Why: She is beautiful, caring and loving.
Favorite subject in school: Math and Science
What I like best about Girls Inc.: To learn, make friends and the leaders. 
What I like best about myself: I’m nice, sweet and always offering.

Group: Bold
Favorite Female Model is: I have too many to choose from!
Favorite subject in school: Math
What I like best about Girls Inc.: The places we get to go, mostly Camp Yale and Sunrise. 
What I like best about myself: I’m funny.

Girls of the Week for July 3, 2008

Why: She works for the Sanitary District and she helps people recycle.   
Favorite subject in school: Getting free time.
What I like best about Girls Inc.: We get to play. 
What I like best about myself: I’m funny. 

Name: Mackenzie

Favorite Female Model is: Elizabeth Cady Stanton.   
Why: I chose her because she got the right for women to vote and I look forward to voting.   
Favorite subject in school: Gym class.
What I like best about Girls Inc.: Coming here because it’s fun. 
What I like best about myself: I’m nice and caring.

Favorite Female Model is: My grandma.
Why: She always has positive thoughts.

What I like best about Girls Inc.: It gives me somewhere to relax and have fun. 
What I like best about myself: My personality.  And my teeth. 

Girls of the Week for June 30, 2008

Name: Morgan
Group: Strong
Favorite Female Model is: Zohar
Why: She is helpful to the girls in our group.  She knows a lot because she is in college. 
Favorite subject in school: Recess
What I like best about Girls Inc.: They are strong, smart and bold because the girls do a lot of good stuff—sharing, saying please/thank you, can I use that, and you did great. 
What I like best about myself: I share with girls and say good stuff with them. 

Name: Lainy
Group: Smart
Favorite Female Model is: Abigail from Nim’s Island.    
Why: She is always nice to her crew, she doesn’t yell at them like others do. 
Favorite subject in school: P.E.
What I like best about Girls Inc.: The adults are trusting.  You can trust them if you have a problem you don’t want to tell your friends, you can trust them. 
What I like best about myself: I’m nice; I help people with stuff they need.

Why: She always helps me when I have problems.

Girls of the Week for July 3, 2008

Name: Jasmine

Favorite Female Model is: Brooke White from American Idol
Why: She’s really good at singing, and singing is my favorite thing to do if I’m mad or sad.  Singing is just my thing—it’s what I like to do. 
Favorite subject in school: Math
What I like best about Girls Inc.: We do a lot of stuff, like going to Camp YALE—it’s a big opportunity & swimming every Friday.
What I like best about myself: I have a good life.  I have great parents, a good home, a loving sister and a really great guard dog.

Why: She is very helpful.  She helps around the house and she keeps everyone healthy, especially me.

What I like best about Girls Inc.: It’s fun.

Why: She is very confident about herself and she believes in me and we are like sisters.

Favorite Female Model is: Brooke
Why: She plays with me a lot when I am alone.
Favorite subject in school: Math
What I like best about Girls Inc.: We do a lot of fun stuff.
What I like best about myself: My eyes—the color makes them pretty.  I have a good family who takes care of me and feeds me.

Favorite Female Model is: Sally Ride
Why: She was the first woman up in space.
Favorite subject in school: Math
What I like best about Girls Inc.: The fun things we do, like swimming. 
What I like best about myself: I am nice.  I help people when they need help, especially at Girls Inc. with cleaning up!

Favorite Female Model is: My mom. 
Why: She works a lot and still does a lot of things for me and my sister. 
Favorite subject in school: Math
What I like best about Girls Inc.: We get to go horseback riding and we get to go swimming every Friday. 
What I like best about myself: I am honest with others and I am loyal to my friends.  Plus, I have a great personality.
