Meet the Staff

Beth Harrick serves as Executive Director. A social psychologist by training, Beth has worked and volunteered in nonprofits since 1996. Her most recent prior position was Executive Director of the Conflict Resolution Center. Beth’s commitment to advancing the lives of girls and women was recognized with Miami University’s Women Breaking Boundaries award in 2001. Beth has served in a variety of advocacy roles, as rape crisis victim advocate, CARAL intern and as peace-work facilitator for incarcerated women. Currently, Beth is trained to facilitate high and low ropes courses and mediate community conflicts. Contact Beth directly with any questions via email

Karen Poling serves as Program Director. With an education background, Karen has worked in a variety of youth-serving positions. A certified middle school social studies teacher, camp counselor, former lifeguard, and previously certified ropes course facilitator, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for working with youth. Karen is a certified Trainer for Girls Inc.’s Preventing Adolescent Pregnancy, Operation SMART, and Money Talks Financial Literacy Program and has worked with Girls Inc. of Wayne County since June 2007. Tai Walton serves as Center Manager, returning to Girls Inc. of Wayne County after having attended programs as a girl years ago. Tai’s extensive experience with internal operations, having served as Manager at Joe’s Pizza on IUE campus during which they established a new location, is an asset. Tai also has a decade of experience working alongside her mother, Rachel Hughes, in the Richmond/Wayne County nonprofit world. A self-described “organizer,” Tai manages to juggle being a full time student at Indiana University East while keeping Girls Inc. running smoothly! Please contact Tai with any questions via email
