2016 Strong Honoree

 Monica Koechlein

Monica serves on various committees often assisting with fundraising and grant writing. She believes strongly in the power of collaboration and the sharing of resources to maximize impact. Monica is currently connected with Richmond Friends School, Meltdown Ice Festival, City Life, and has consulted the Richmond High School band, choir, and orchestra. She is a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Women’s Giving Circle.

Monica was employed as a special education teacher in Richmond Community Schools for 16 years. Since 2012, Monica has served as the President of the Stamm Koechlein Family Foundation. She oversees the grant process and ensures that the organizations that receive funding through the Foundation have the resources and support they need to carry out their work effectively. For the past three years, Monica has served the Richmond Symphony Orchestra as the Executive Director, overseeing its day-to-day operations and increasing its reach into the region. She feels fortunate to work for two hard-working Board of Directors (in Stamm Koechlein Family Foundation and RSO) and enjoys balancing the scale between funder and fundraiser.

Congratulations, Monica Koechlein!
